O’Neil’s Tree Service covers northern and central Pinellas County, with crews working Palm Harbor, Clearwater, Dunedin, Safety Harbor, Tarpon Springs, Belleair, Largo, Oldsmar and East Lake. Our core service area
Our yard is in Palm Harbor, so most of these are inside a 30 minute drive. That matters more than it sounds. Short drives mean we can send a crew back out for a follow-up look without charging you for the trip, and it is usually why we can get eyes on a storm-damaged tree the same week.
Palm Harbor is home. Our office is at 233 Hedden Ct, and a good share of the mature live oaks we maintain are within a few miles of it.
Clearwater covers a lot of ground and a lot of tree conditions, from salt exposure near the water to big interior canopy oaks on the older streets.
Dunedin has some of the best street canopy in the county, and with it the codominant unions and included bark that tend to come from decades of unmanaged growth.
Safety Harbor sits on higher ground with older oaks over houses, which puts a lot of our work there into risk assessment and reduction pruning rather than removal.
Tarpon Springs runs heavier to sabal palms and sand pine than the rest of the county, and palms are their own discipline.
Belleair has a mature canopy and its own tree ordinance, so permitting is usually part of the conversation before anything comes down.
Largo is the southern edge of our core area.
Oldsmar and East Lake sit at the top of the county near the Pasco line, with a mix of newer subdivision plantings and the older oaks that were left standing when those neighborhoods went in.

What we do in all of them
Every city above gets the same crews and the same standards: pruning to ANSI A300, removal, plant health care, risk assessment, cabling and bracing, stump grinding and arboricultural consulting. If you are not sure which one you need, that is what the assessment is for.
Common questions
Do you charge a trip fee to come out?
No. An estimate for tree work is free anywhere in our service area. A written arboricultural report is consulting work and is billed, but that is the report, not the drive.
What if I am just outside these cities?
Call and ask. City lines are not how crews actually get routed, and there are plenty of addresses just past a boundary that we are already driving by. If it is too far to serve you well, we would rather say so than take the job and do it poorly.
Do you work with HOAs and property managers?

How fast can you get out after a storm?
It depends on how widespread the damage is. After a storm that hits the whole county, everyone is in the same queue and we triage by hazard rather than by who called first. A tree on a house comes before a tree on a fence. Our storm page covers what to do first.
